APDAOur Mission
To redefine, reposition and reignite a lifelong, rewarding engagement with physical culture in Australia in the 21st century. Our Approach Physie is fun. It is also social. It promotes fitness and a general sense of well-being, and self-worth. APDA embraces the opportunity for positive change. The creative team at APDA pride themselves in understanding the need to review and redefine this unique sport, and collectively they have designed a national curriculum that is energetic, edgy and always exciting for students. Our People APDA was born out of the dedication and determination of a national network of creative physie and dance professionals who share a vision to create a more contemporary, relevant and transparent platform for the benefit of their students, and the sport itself. All our instructors and associates bring a wealth of industry experience to their roles, and all are committed to ensuring their students experience and interpret the unique and rhythmic relationship between music and movement. To ensure APDA maintains the highest standards of management and accountability APDA is lead by a board of three highly experienced individuals bringing expertise in organisational leadership, arts and commerce. Supporting and advising the management team is an Advisory Committee of five senior associates. The Advisory Committee will be elected by the Associates on an annual basis to ensure a fair and responsive representation. So what exactly is Physie & Dance?"Physie" is an inexpensive form of dance that includes aerobic movement, ballet and floor work all performed to music. New choreography is created and taught each year by teachers at various clubs across Australia. Participants range in age from 3 to open ladies and some ladies at the club have formed life long friendships.
Physie promotes team work, self esteem and friendships. It provides the opportunity to participate in weekly classes for exercise and a competition schedule for those who are interested |
